Today there was a meeting between Rob Elvin (Chairman NZ Masters Billiards & Snooker Association), Ron Berriman (Club President), Warren Fisher (Club Manager) and Jim Parkin (Snooker Adjunct Chairman) to discuss a possible Masters Tournament at the Club in October.
Rob gave an overview of the NZ Masters association before saying he was impressed with the club last year when we hosted the National Singles Tournament. Rob then gave a run down of how the Association run their Masters tournaments and how the club could benefit from holding our own. Sponsorship would need to be found to complete prize monies of $5000. Entry fees account for approx $2000 so the club needs to raise about $3000. Ron and Warren were confident this wouldn't be a problem. So all looks good for our very first Masters tournament in October.
